We operate over 160 aircraft with our over 900 team members, delivering airborne training to the Canadian military; air ambulance services; airborne fire services; helicopter operations; fixed-wing air charter services; expediting and logistics support; and a range of maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification, engineering and certification services.

... that on August 2, 2012 Discovery Air International flew 2 snowy owls from Edmonton to their original home in Inuvik, NWT? The trip went extremely well and the two beautiful owls are now back in their natural environment after receiving the care they needed from the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation. A big thank you to Northern Cross for helping coordinate this.
... that Air Tindi’s Jason Pineau placed first in the category “best of the best” in Aviation Week’s 2012 Art and Photography issue? An annual worldwide photo competition, this year there were roughly 900 entries from 108 photographers. Congratulations Jason! Jason’s winning photo was taken in September 2011 on Point Lake, NWT and is a panoramic shot, which means it’s actually 5 photos stitched together.
... the Fighter Weapons Instructor Course (FWIC) is the highly-selective Canadian “Top Gun” course for fighter pilots. Based out of Cold Lake, Alberta, the prestigious five month program accepts up to eight (8) students a year. The “Top Gun” course is designed to train already experienced Fighter Pilots at the Graduate level in all aspects of strike-fighter aircraft employment, which includes tactics, hardware, techniques and the current world threat for air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. Did you know that in addition to employing many FWIC graduates, Discovery Air Defence Services also supports the course today by presenting real-world adversary threats for the current course in locations all across America?
... that at 19:15 hours on February 23rd, 2012, David Pretorius and Herve’ Bertho flew the newly outfitted Bell 212, C-GDAO from Yellowknife to Behchoko to Whati and back to Yellowknife under Night VFR conditions, completing GSH’s first revenue Part 704 flight operation?
