Discovery Air Defence Participates in Exercise Cutlass Fury 16 over the Atlantic
DA Defence recently participated in Exercise CUTLASS FURY 16, a multinational anti-submarine warfare (ASW) exercise led by the Royal Canadian Navy. DA Defence’s fleet of Alpha Jets and Westwind special mission aircraft join Canadian and allied ships and aircraft conducting ASW training off the coast of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. As a highly-experienced combat support provider to the Canadian Armed Forces, DA Defence aircraft and crews flew more than 180 sorties on various missions including anti-ship warfare training, electronic warfare, threat replication and target tow.
Yellowknife Community Foundation receives $19K donation after GSH Anniversary Event
On April 2, 2016, GSH hosted their 32nd Anniversary event in Yellowknife, NT. An estimated 1,100 people were at the event and many were provided flights around the city as part of the event. A total of $9,671 was raised from these flights and Discovery Air matched the donation, giving a total of $19,342 to the Yellowknife Community Foundation. ... the Fighter Weapons Instructor Course (FWIC) is the highly-selective Canadian “Top Gun” course for fighter pilots. Based out of Cold Lake, Alberta, the prestigious five month program accepts up to eight (8) students a year. The “Top Gun” course is designed to train already experienced Fighter Pilots at the Graduate level in all aspects of strike-fighter aircraft employment, which includes tactics, hardware, techniques and the current world threat for air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. Did you know that in addition to employing many FWIC graduates, Discovery Air Defence also supports the course today by presenting real-world adversary threats for the current course in locations all across America?
... that GSH added a BK117-D2 to its fleet in 2013? The BK117 joined GSH’s large fleet of aircraft in supporting a variety of missions including natural resource exploration, passenger transportation, wildlife survey and ecological tourism, utility construction and maintenance, and air ambulance and remote medevac response.

Using a LARZAC C6/C20 Engine Test Cell, this Transport Canada Approved facility allows DADS technicians to maintain, repair and overhaul our Alpha Jet engines, ensuring the highest level of safety and serviceability.
