Chief Financial Officer

Location: Yellowknife, NWT

Air Tindi Ltd. is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who has a demonstrated track record in leading and providing leadership in planning, evaluating and controlling all aspects of the financial functions for the Company.

The CFO will play a critical role in managing, developing and implementing the overall financial strategy of ATL.  As a member of the senior leadership team, the CFO will oversee the entire consolidated and unconsolidated financial reporting and accounting functions for the business entity, ensuring timely, complete and accurate information on the performance and financial condition of the entity and presenting the information to the parent company and business unit senior management.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily operations of the accounting department including the management of the finance team;

Provide complete and accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting on a timely basis in accordance with deadlines;

Prepare the annual operating and capital budget package along with the analysis and reporting on actual versus budget performance on an ongoing basis;

Oversee and manage the full cycle financial accounting processes for the business entity and its subsidiaries including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll, general ledger, government compliance reporting, costing and inventory accounting;

Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures; and,

Other related projects assigned by the President as required.

Qualifications

The successful candidates will have a University degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CA, CMA or CGA) preferred;

Experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management;

Public company experience and aviation experience is a definite asset;

Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial and local requirements regarding financial records and other regulatory processes is essential;

Financial analysis, budgeting and some strategic planning experience;

Collaborative and strong team leader with a demonstrated ability to develop and mentor staff;

Ability to motivate team to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects;

High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts;

Above average communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills are vital to the role.

The scholarships are offered to full-time residents of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (two year minimum residency - a combination of continuous residency in both territories would be accepted to meet the residency requirement) pursuing full-time aviation-related studies.
